Hélène Hardy, author and illustrator of The Tales of Zoufftgen

Hélène Hardy is the author and illustrator of The Tales of Zoufftgen. Through stories rooted in a real village, she develops a world blending nature, memory and imagination.

The stories began simply. In the evening, they often started from a real place: a tree, a path, an old farm glimpsed in the distance. Then the seasons, memories and imagination gradually turned these familiar places into tales.

The Tales of Zoufftgen are deeply tied to the village whose name they bear. The landscapes, the atmospheres and the details running through the stories come from real life: walks, forests, silences and childhood memories.

Today, The Tales of Zoufftgen give rise to readings, encounters and cultural events in schools, libraries and events across the Greater Region.

A world to read and to pass on.
